This season, Pebble Bar in Midtown hosted the grand opening of Tequila Herradura’s Legend in New York City. In addition to honoring one of the best tequilas in the world, the occasion paid respect to Ruben Aceves, the global brand ambassador for Tequila Herradura and a key contributor to the company’s success on a global scale.
A Snack of Legend
The best 100% blue agave is used to make Tequila Herradura’s Legend, which is then carefully matured for a full year in severely charred American White Oak barrels. The process begins with natural fermentation and distillation. Because of the unique grooves in these barrels, the tequila can interact with additional layers of toasted oak as it ages. The end product is a superb Añejo tequila that showcases Tequila Herradura’s skill with its rich, deep color and smooth, velvety taste.
In memory of Ruben Aceves
As Tequila Herradura’s global brand ambassador since 2000, Ruben Aceves also experienced a unique milestone in his career at the event. With more than 20 years of devoted work, Aceves has been crucial to the growth of Tequila Herradura and el Jimador as well as the establishment of the brand’s reputation. Distributors, merchants, and important partners have benefited from his tenure as he has imparted knowledge about the rich heritage and fine workmanship of Casa Herradura’s tequila line.
On February 28, 2023, Ruben Aceves will retire after more than 22 years of service. His contributions have given the brand a lasting impression. “Given Mr. Aceves’s unparalleled knowledge of the over 150-year-old history of the distillery, his unofficial title includes historian for Casa Herradura,” a Tequila Herradura spokesman said. His enthusiasm, commitment, and cooperative attitude will always be a part of Herradura’s history.
