The performance eyewear firm RIA Eyewear (“RIA”), based in New York, is happy to announce that Kim Clijsters, a former world number one tennis player and Hall of Famer, has become the newest brand ambassador.
Six-time Grand Slam winner Clijsters joins the expanding RIA tennis pro ambassador roster, which already includes Bob and Mike Bryan (16-time Grand Slam Champions), Jamie Murray (7-time Grand Slam Champion), and other multiple Grand Slam winners.
In both singles and doubles, Clijsters reached a career-high rating of No. 1 in the world in 2003. She won 41 singles championships during her career, including three at the US Open and one at the Australian Open. In addition, Clijsters is a three-time WTA Tour Championship singles champion and a member of the 2001 Fed Cup winning Belgian team. Clijsters received an induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2017.
Clijsters remarked, “I am thrilled to be joining RIA Eyewear.” The RIA team’s commitment to producing fashionable, high-quality eyewear is exactly in line with my values as an athlete who is constantly looking for the best gear. Considering how much time tennis players spend in the sun, I’m excited to be a member of the RIA family and promote goods that improve racquet sports players’ performance while shielding their eyes from UV rays.”
RIA Eyewear, a pioneer in cutting-edge sports eyewear, is thrilled to collaborate with Clijsters, who personifies the spirit of excellence and tenacity on and off the court.”We are thrilled to have Kim Clijsters as an RIA brand ambassador. She is a sports icon,” co-founders of RIA Eyewear Chris Hanson and Jordan Kemp remarked. “Her influence and passion for sports resonate deeply with our mission, and we believe that together we can elevate the conversation around the importance of eyewear in the racquet sports community.”
Kim Clijsters has joined the RIA ambassador team. The company is expanding its line of products in response to the tremendous success of its in-house Court HD+ lens technology. With the help of ZEISSTM, the world leader in lens optics, Court HD+ was created to improve contrast on the court while offering 100% UVA/B protection.
The purpose of the non-polarized lenses is to aid tennis players in maintaining their depth perception, which polarised sunglasses obstruct, making it more difficult to time the ball accurately. Every performance frame style offered by RIA is crafted by hand in Italy and designed to withstand the roughest court environments.
